Helcon Building Limited is run by its founder, Mayo, who comes from a background in heavy civil construction. Before setting up in East Yorkshire, he worked as a leading hand and plant operator on major infrastructure, including oil and gas civil works and the Wambo Wind Farm in Queensland, one of Australia's largest renewable energy projects, where the turbine foundations alone ran to tens of thousands of cubic metres of concrete.
That background shapes how your job gets done: time on the machines and leading crews on big sites means ground and foundations to engineering standards, proper setting out and levels, and a clean, methodical site from first dig to final tidy-up. The difference here is you get that directly from the person on the tools, not passed down a chain of subcontractors.
